I read The New Abs Diet: The 6-Week Plan to Flatten Your Belly and Firm Up Your Body for Life, which outlined the diet and also contained recipes; but I had to have the entire cookbook with color photos of some of their dishes to get me motivated. It also simplified the diet step-by-step. I tried one of the smoothies tonight and it was delicious! I've already picked out several of the recipes I want to start with, and I've shopped for most of the ingredients. I think I can do this! This is a good companion to the Abs Diet book. It's always helpful to have simple, delicious recipes that use the foods that a diet recommends. This book wasn't quite what I was expecting. Most of the recipes had a lot of ingredients I don't normally use and or foods I don't really like or can afford to eat anyway.
A lot of the recipes were high in calories also which is what I am trying to reduce.
Overall I don't think it was that helpful to me. I didn't get much out of it.

Great way to lose that extra fat off your mid-section. Make sure to follow the food plan!

Firstly, this is a seriously comprehensive book, there's so much information in here, it gave me a headache. I didn't like the introduction, it was too wordy and didn't really contribute much to the book overall I think, if I had read that as a sample before buying the book, I wouldn't have bought the book.
The best part are the recipes, very no nonsense, stripped down with not a lot of ingredients or fussy prep work. Liked this a lot, especially the smoothie section. I also liked the meal plans Firstly, this is a seriously comprehensive book, there's so much information in here, it gave me a headache. It seems like a lot of food to eat every day, only one way to find out I guess.
